Sunday Morning

Grocery shopping is done. The truck is full of gas, we had breakfast from Bojangles (Cajun fillet biscuits) Got my rides lined up for this week. If I could just get some gumption to clean - I'd really be cooking!!!

This morning on the Today Show they had an author promoting his book - and when we heard the name, not only did we laugh out loud, we continued to laugh - I told Danny I would have to buy it based on the name alone- American Nerd: The Story of My People by Benjamin Nugent. I used to think I wasn't a nerd, but - I know a bit too much about computers and Star Wars not to consider the fact that I am one, and I embrace my nerd culture - "my people".

Also this morning I read an article on Yahoo.com that I thought was interest Everything seemingly is spinning out of control by ALAN FRAM and EILEEN PUTMAN, Associated Press Writers. It's a very good article. It goes along with the parallels I mentioned earlier about the Rise and the Fall of the Roman Empire - versus what is happening in the USA now.

English historian - Edward Gibbon published his 6 volumes of "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" in 1776. Chronicling Rome after 180AD to 1590. Because I am embracing my geek culture today - here is a link to Project Gutenberg.org
that publishes books online. It has all 6 volumes - as well as many other books. Upload and read away!!! But to sum it up - everything that happened to the glorious Roman Empire is also happening here in the USA. A little spooky.....

Well - let's not dwell on this, let's focus on cleaning up the house - washing clothes, putting things up and having a fun Sunday.
