Recession

Folks - I've been calling this economic downturn a recession for a while now. I've even come up with my own term - "Elevator Economics" - because the economic state is going up and down, up and down, never staying at the same place for very long.

Let me tell you there are some things that really irritate me about all of the mess going on in our country.

1) People are not taking responsibility for their actions
2) Businesses are expecting the government to bail them out

BUT - we are watching HISTORY HAPPEN PEOPLE!!!

It's easy to discuss what is happening - people have made poor decisions with their credit - with business and many other variables. Gas prices, and the price of other items are going up - you (the consumer) are making the same amount of money you did last year at this time - and that is taking away from your disposable income.

The best thing you could do is pay off your debt, if you have any. Save some money to have a little extra on hand - cut costs where possible (use coupons, carpool, take on a part time job) don't be afraid and do your best. Encourage each other. Make savings fun. Find ways to to enjoy more for less. Think of others.
